Youths and women from Lamurde local Government Area of Adamawa State have decried the non-compliance with Governor Ahmadu Fintiri’s directives regarding political appointments saying they were deliberately marginalized.

At a press conference held in Yola, they accused some greedy old men of circumventing the governor’s directive to ensure only those who worked hard formed the list due to selfish reasons.

The spokesman of the youths, Ben Hoki called on the governor to disregard any such purported list from the so-called stakeholders as it was prepared in total contravention of his directives.

“As representatives of the stakeholders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Lamurde Local Government Area of the state, we have come to address this press conference on the overbearing and undemocratic behaviours of some few stakeholders from our area. The affected persons have usurped the powers of the rest of us to advance their greed,” he said.

Governor Fintiri has a fortnight ago during a meeting of PDP stakeholders at Government House, Yola directed that stakeholders from each local government should constitute a 15-man list for placement or political appointment.

But expressing dismay over the blatant refusal of the stakeholders to comply with the directive Hoki said “unfortunately, in Lamurde Local Government, the directive was set aside with impunity.

“This is because they colluded in a brazen display of highhandedness and produced the Lamurde list without according other senior stakeholders even a mere benefit of consultation,” he said.
