Abubakar Y. Suleiman

The immediate past Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Abubakar Y. Suleiman was on Tuesday reelected Speaker of the 10th Assembly.
This was at the proclamation of the assembly by the State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed on Tuesday.
Immediately the Clerk to the House, Barrister Umar Yusuf Gital read the proclamation from the Governor, members of the 10th Assembly went into the voting of Principal officers of the Assembly during which Abubakar Y. Sulaiman was elected unanimously as Speaker.
Abubakar Y. Sulaiman is the member representing Ningi Central Constituency, was elected for the second time thereby becoming the first person to be elected Bauchi Assembly Speaker twice.
The lawmakers also elected Jamilu Umaru Dahiru representing Bauchi Central as the new Deputy Speaker.
Clerk to the Assembly presided over the inauguration.
The member representing Jama’are Constituency, Hon Mubarak Haruna (NNPP) presented a motion nominating Abubakar Y Suleiman as Speaker and was seconded by Hon. Auwal Hassan representing Shira Constituency.
