Kano traders attend 3rd edition of China-Africa Economic, Trade Expo, expected to endorse bilateral cooperation

Kano Council of Traders and Entrepreneurs (KASCOTE), under the leadership of Alhaji Hassan Tahir Yaro formed part of the 53 African countries participating in 3rd edition of China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo that kicked off on 29th June in Changsha, Central china Hunan Province.

Also, there are 12 international organizations gathered to establish bilateral cooperation with an anticipated deal worth $19.1billion to be signed.

The KASCOTE chairman made the remarks a WhatsApp interview with Apex News Exclusive while in China.

He was optimistic that the bilateral relationship between China and African countries, especially Nigeria will definitely attract foreign investment to our nations.

He said: “hopefully the Chinese Government will continue to strengthen its economic ties with Nigeria and all other African nations. And we are most certain both present and forthcoming generation will certainly reap a lot of benefit in terms of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI); and job creation that is tailored toward boosting self reliance among our teeming youth.”

Alhaji Tahir commended President Bola Tinubu for collapsing the parallel market as the opportunity will give KASCOTE members opportunity to source agricultural implement and improved seeds for farmers and in exchange will export both raw and processed farm product to China and other countries.

He also commended Kano State Government Administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for doing all it takes to boost the morale of Kano Business Community.

According him: “Already there is a standing order for our members to source raw materials for this expo including Sesame seed, moringa, ginger, hibiscus and the likes.”

All in all, the expo offered a crucial platform for cooperation in various fields and further proof of thriving China-Africa economic and trade ties.

Apart from trade cooperation, it is expected to be signed in a wide range of areas, including cultural and people-to-people exchanges.

By and large, Her Excellency, Peng Liyuan, wife of Chinese President, Xi Jinping and UNESCO special envoy participated in the expo solely for the Advancement of Girls and Women Education, where they vowed to pull the strength from all sides to promote women’s full development and contribute toward developing a China-Africa community with a shared future in the new era.
