Governor Nasir Idris has approved the release of over N2.4 billion for the construction and rehabilitation of school structures in Kebbi State.

While addressing newsmen in Birnin Kebbi, the Executive Secretary, Kebbi State Universal Basic Education Board, Hassan Umar said the gesture was Governor’s deliberate policy towards improving education in the state.

“The approved money will be used to construct 86 secondary schools, rehabilitate existing 224 schools while about 7115 sets of furniture will be made available to the learning institutions,” Umar said.

The Executive Secretary said “in addition to this all schools that have broken fences will be reconstructed while new ones would be provided to schools that don’t have them in order to provide maximum security to both teaching staff and students.”
