Gombe Government Assures Residents of Swift Intervention on road wash out

Permanent Secretary, Yambiu Idris inspecting the washout spot on the road

The Permanent Secretary, Gombe State Ministry of Works and Transportation, Alhaji Yambiu Idris Buba, on Monday, inspected a road washout on the Todi-Shela-Tudu Kwaya road in Billiri local government area. 

The Permanent Secretary who was accompanied by a team of Engineers from the Ministry, said that they visited the site to assess the extent of damage as a result of heavy downpour.

He assured the communities that the state government under the leadership of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya will take a swift action to fix the road. 

He also assured that government will ensure repairs and reconstruction of other washed-away roads and bridges across the state.

According to him, “Looking at the importance of this road, and  taken into cognisance the fact that roads play a key role in the socio-economic activities of the people and development of the society, and considering the disposition of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya towards the well-being of his people; I can assure you that Government will definitely cone to your aid and ameliorate your suffering.

“I know how bad he feels each time he sees means of livelihood of the people suffer setback,” Yambiu Idris added.

The Permanent Secretary then called on the residents of the affected communities to desist from dumping refuse in the drainages  and stop farming along the water channels to avoid  reoccurrence as contained in a statement by Information Officer, Ministry of Works and Transportation, Titus Nerus Dangabar.
