Kebbi Commissioner of Information and Culture, Malam Yakubu Ahmed BK

The Kebbi State Ministry of Information and Culture, intends to establish a Strategic Information Management Unit to collate information in one pool for enhanced dissemination.
The State Commissioner of Information and Culture, Malam Yakubu Ahmed BK, made the disclosure at Rayhaan FM radio station, Birnin Kebbi as part of his visit to media organizations in the state.
He said the Unit is the manage inflow of from information officers of ministries, extra-ministerial departments and the local government areas.
According to him, as an advocate quality news generation and dissemination, one of the best things that can be done is to impact knowledge particularly in the rural areas.
Malam BK also pointed out that the ministry intends to hold a retreat for Information officers in the ministry and the local governments as well as journalists resident in the state to explore avenues of understanding the job.
On the media visits, the Commissioner stated that it is apparent because it requires team work by stakeholders in order to advance the frontiers of development of the country.
Besides, he said, “we are here to know ourselves as journalists and see where we can collaborate in order to achieve objectives both the station and state government.”
The Commissioner’s entourage included the Permanent Secretary and directors of the ministry. Malam BK had visited other media organizations and held a press briefing with the correspondents and other journalists in the state.
