New Council Member, Prof Omenugha welcomed by NIPR Anambra Council

The new Council Member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Professor Kate Omenugha has been welcomed by the Anambra State Council with a special ceremony in Awka.

The event was attended by prominent figures in the field of Public Relations, including the Commissioner for Information, Sir. Paul Nwosu; the Accountant General of Anambra State, Dr. Chukwudi Okoli; the Managing Director, Anambra Broadcasting Service, Sir. Chido Obidiegwu; the Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth Empowerment, Dr. Nelson Omenugha; with friends and colleagues of Professor Omenugha offering goodwill messages.

Others who felicitated Prof Omenugha included Sir. Jude Emecheta and Comrade Peter Nwosu.

Speaking at the event, Professor Angela Nwammuo, the State Chairman of the NIPR expressed delight in having Professor Omenugha join the council.

She commended what she described as her outstanding contributions to the field of Public Relations and emphasized the significance of her role within the State.

Responding, Professor Kate Omenugha, expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and restated her commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism in Public Relations.

She acknowledged the challenges facing the industry and outlined her vision to work hand-in-hand with the government towards the transformation agenda of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s leadership to inspire others.

The immediate past Council member NIPR, Reverend Father Professor Boniface Obiefuna, and a member of the association, Chief Uche Udedibia, praised Professor Omenugha’s dedication to the field, as they expressed optimism on her future contributions to the Council, emphasizing the importance of unity and collaboration within the NIPR Community to advance the profession and promote ethical practices in Public Relations.

The Managing Director, Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, Sir.  Chido Obidiegwu, congratulated Professor Omenugha, stating that her passion for excellence and commitment to ethical practices while serving as the former Commissioner for Education had been an inspiration to many, even as he expressed confidence that she would make significant contributions to the NIPR.
