GAIN organizes 3-day workshop on food, nutrition in Bauchi

An international NGO, Cooperative Assistance for Relief Everywhere (CARE) in collaboration with Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) with funding from the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs has organised a 3-day workshop on nutrition.
The workshop which is holding at CRISPAN Suites and Event Center, Jos is for development of Bauchi State Multi-Sectoral Plan of Action for food and Nutrition.

The workshop is organized by Catalyzing Strengthened Policy Action for Healthy Diets and Resilience (CASCADE) in collaboration with the Bauchi State Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning for the State Committee on Food and Nutrition (SCFN).
The key objectives of the Multi-Sectoral Plan of Action for Food and Nutrition is to strengthened Goverment Institutions to drive Multi-Sectoral coordination for Food 
and Nutrition.

It is also to maximise technical and financial investment, resources for food and Nutrition services delivery and widen Multi-Sectoral implementation of food and nutrition interventions and programmes in the state.
The development is to further strengthen essential nutrition advocacy to be driven by government stakeholders and private sector actors as well as address multi-faceted problems of food and nutrition.
It also to promote the attainment of optimal nutritional status for all, most especially most vulnerable women and children.
Participants for the workshop were drawn from line MDAs and partners working in the state food and nutrition sector including Ministries of Budget, Economic Planning Health and Multi-Sectoral Coordination, Agriculture, Education, Women Affairs as well as BASPHCDA, HMB, Academia, Alive and Thrive fhi360 and others.
