The Adamawa State Government has approved N225 billion as the 2024 budget.

It also subsequently approved N1.7 billion for the supply of furniture to schools.

These are some of the resolutions of the State Executive Council meeting.

In another development, the Governor has appealed to citizens, friends and associates to avoid lavish ceremonies with the aim of celebrating his birthday billed for Friday 27th October.

He instead asked for prayers for the state and the nation, adding that the people urgently need “fiscal space” so they can cope with the enormous economic demands unleashed by the removal of fuel subsidy.

Fintiri noted that he is sensitive to the hardships facing the people as they grapple with the economic effects of the policy direction of the federal government.

“I am not disposed to celebrating while challenges stare the people in the face. I am a Governor who has human feelings and will not leave anything to chance until all Adamawa citizens are comfortable,” he said.

Governor Fintiri has therefore directed that prayers be said on Friday in Mosques and Churches on Sunday for peace and harmony in the land amid the challenges of fuel subsidy removal.
