Bauchi Emirate sacks 55 title holders turbaned improperly, warns against flaunting procedures

Fifty-five newly turbaned traditional title holders in Bauchi Emirate have been void by the Emirate Council due to improper turbanning. 

The development is coming few weeks after similar sacking of some traditional title holders for improper turbaning by a District Head in the Bauchi Emirate. 

The removed traditional title holders were turbaned by some Hamlet Heads in Miri District Area, without following due procedure.

According to a press statement by the Chief Information Officer of the Emirate Council, Babangida Hassan Jahun, the affected Hamlet Heads are those of Lushi Takololo, Yayire, Baram Gada ta kasa, Wuntin Dada and Sabon Birshi Gandu all in Bauchi LGA. 

Babangida Hassan Jahun stated that the decision was taken by the Council during its meeting held at the Council Secretariat within the Emir’s Palace in Bauchi. 

According to him, the Council also warned the Village Head of Birshi Alh. Muhammadu Lawal Ahmad and the District Head of Miri, Mal. Hussaini Abubakar Othman (Danjikan Bauchi) to ensure full compliances of the turbanning procedure in order to avoid sanction.
