Kogi governorship election tribunal begins sitting

Kogi State Governorship Election Tribunal opened sitting Saturday in Lokoja and has granted four exparte motions to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and its candidate Yakubu Muritala Ajaka, in the November 11, 2023 election.

The tribunal approved the party’s request seeking for orders to inspect election ballot papers.

It also tribunal granted the plaintiff to do forensic examination of ballot papers and inspect BVAS as well as receive the reports with other 48 documents it seeks to use in presenting its petition.

Similarly, INEC has been given 48 hours to deliver all the documents to Ajaka and SDP.

The tribunal therefore ordered the plaintiff and the respondents to report at the tribunal on Wednesday next week.
