The Executive Secretary of Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, (NCPC), Rev. Dr Yakubu Pam, led members of the states Pilgrimage Leaders on tour of Holy sites in Rome on Sunday, December 17, 2023, preparatory for the Main Pilgrimage exercise to Rome and Greece scheduled for early next year.
The NCPC helmsman welcomed the delegation and stressed on the importance of the pre-visit tour of Holy sites in Rome having collectively chosen Rome and Greece for the forthcoming Main Pilgrimage exercise slated for early 2024.
This was contained in a statement to Apex News Exclusive by Deputy Director and Head of Media and Public Relations, NCPC, Celestine Toruka.
He explained that the visit would help them asses the holy sites after which they would meet and brainstorm to consider the acceptable options.
The team during the guided tour of Holy sites in Rome visited the Roman Forum, the Mamertine Prison, the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps and the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore .
Some of the states Pilgrimage Leaders expressed optimism that the next Main Pilgrimage exercise would be spiritually fulfilling, considering the fact that Rome is blessed with important holy sites.
The excitement on the faces of the states Pilgrimage Leaders during the tour speak volume of their impressions.
The team would continue their pilgrimage tour of Rome up till Wednesday, December 20, 2023, when they would depart for Greece.
