Taraba NUJ urges members to brace up on professional obligations

Members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Taraba State Council have been told to brace up to meet the professional obligations of the Union in line with the new provision of its Constitution.
The Union also urged Chapels to adhere strictly with the provisions of the new NUJ Constitution before registering new members.
In a communique issued at the end of year Congress meeting at the Press Center Jalingo on Tuesday, the Council also resolved that no NUJ Administration in the State should lease or rent out any facility of the Union beyond its tenure and enjoined Officials and members to look outside the box for innovations and ideas to develop the NUJ Press Center to sustain itself.
The Congress commended the Taraba State Government under the leadership of Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas for his prompt actions against insecurity in the State, especially kidnapping but however called on the Government and Security Agencies to be more proactive in their approaches to the lingering insecurity in the state.
The Council resolved to send condolences to the families of kidnaped victims all over the state.
