The Governor of Taraba State, Dr Agbu Kefas has promised to be steadfast in the implementation of the 2024 budget of the State.
The Governor stated this in Jalingo after signing the 2024 budget tagged “Budget of moving forward.”
He praised the fast passage of the budget by the Taraba State House of Assembly.
He commended the collaborative spirit between the executives and legislative arms of the Government noting that
the budget remains a blueprint for the future he envisioned for Taraba State which would address critical issues, and foster economic growth.
“The budget will be implemented judiciously, and every Kobo of the State will be spent wisely in the interest of future generation in the Taraba State,” the Governor stated.
In his remarks, the Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. John Kizito Bonzena said the size of the budget was increased by 2 billion naira to accommodate some vital and very critical projects to the five-finger agenda of the Governor.
The Speaker commended the Governor for his doggedness in moving the state forward.
Governor Kefas last Monday presented a budget of over N311•3 billion and the State House of Assembly gave it accelerated hearing and raised it over with N2 billion before passing it Friday and handed it back to the Governor who also signed it into law same day.
