SGF Akume urges North Central to unite, develop zone, Nigeria as Ewuga defects to APC

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, has urged the people of the North Central to join hands to bring more development to the zone and Nigeria at large.

Akume stated this during the reception organised in honour of Senator Solomon Ewuga and others who defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State on Saturday in Lafia.

Apex News Exclusive reports that Senator Ewuga was before now a stalwart of Peoples Democracy Party (PDP) in Nasarawa State.

According to the SGF, the north central has a lot of opportunities waiting to be tapped, noting that when we join hands together the sky will be the limit of the zone.

“I am very proud to be here today in the presence of worthy sons of Nigeria and Nasarawa state, our country is blessed, we have the human and material resources, which is second to non not just in Africa.

“We have a very talented President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the gifted strategist politician and a stateman who has nack to identify talents and use such talents.

“And one of them is National Chairman of our great party, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, a great man, fine and extraordinary man who has added value to our party since assumption of office a few months ago, ” he said.

Akume described Ewuga as a courageous and hardworking man who loves Nasarawa State noting that his coming into APC fold would help the state to move faster in the area of development.

Akume said Ewuga would be writing his name in gold if he did exactly what he said he was going to do for Nasarawa state and indeed for North Central Zone.

“You coming is also timely, join hands with Gov Sule and other leaders to help develop Nasarawa state is what our people need, that’s what they want, we will fail them if we don’t do so.

“You have got exposure, as former deputy governor, former FCT state Minister, Senator, you told me is time to join hands and develop Nasarawa state, and your people have been pushing for this.

“I am happy you didn’t disappoint them, don’t disappoint any us because we have confidence in you, when we discussed your plan return to APC with Sule which are you also a co- founder we were elated,” he said.

On his part, former Governor of the state, Senator Umaru Almakura, commended efforts of Dr. Ganduje for ensuring peace and stability of the party.

Senator Almakura described the SGF as a true son of the North Central and applauded his disposition toward establishment of peace in the Zone and Nasarawa state in particular.

He described Ewuga as seasoned politician, noting that his coming into the fold of APC would add value to the smooth operation of the party in Nasarawa state.

“Your taken over of this party shortly after elections, and as usual elections came with rancours and disagreements but quietly and tirelessly you painstakingly moved around the country and ensure peace and stability of this party.

“Giving the commitment, focus, in-depth knowledge of governance , politics and economy by our President, Bola Tinubu, I’m very sure that APC is going to last beyond our imagination,” he said.
