Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District at the Red Chamber of the National Assembly, Simon Bako Lalong has congratulated Nigerian Muslims and their counterparts worldwide for successfully witnessing another eid-el-fitri celebration marking the end of Ramadan.

Lalong in a message said the significant religious exercise has marked yet another time for the Muslim Ummah to reflect on the teachings of Prophet Muhammad as encapsulated in the glorious Koran.

This was contained in a statement Dr. Makut Simon Macham, Special Adviser on Media to Senator Lalong.

He said having performed the Ramadan fast successfully, there should not be any barrier against carrying out the teachings of the Holy Prophet which encourage peace, love, unity and compassion.

The Senator says there is every need for Nigerians to use religion and spiritual exercises such as the Ramadan to come together and work for the general good of the nation.

While congratulating them for marking this year’s event successfully, he advocated for more engagements that will further provide avenues for Inter-Religious dialogue, understanding and collaboration so as to defeat the antics of people who use religion to devide Nigerians.

Lalong also urged the Muslim Ummah not to relent in continuing to practice the lessons and injunctions of charity, love, sacrifice and compassion which were imbibed during the fasting period.
