In its efforts to boost economic activities in the state, the Bauchi State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Mohammed Auwal Jatau said the lead administration of Governor Bala Mohammed requires support of private sector to resuscitate its ailing industries and create more business environments and opportunities.
The Deputy Governor who serves as Chairman of the board, spoke recently at the inaugural meeting of the Governing Board of Bureau for Privatisation and Economic Reforms, where he said the inauguration signals the beginning of another journey in the collective mandate to ensure full and functional Privatisation and Commercialisation of moribund enterprises in the state.
According to him, “the mandate and role of the Board, include among others, determining the political, economic and social objectives of Privatisation and Commercialisation of State owned enterprises, review from time to time, the socio-economic effect of the program of Privatisation and Commercialisation, make regulatory reforms in the economic sector of the state and to supervise the activities of the Bureau and to issue directions on the implementation of the Privatisation, Commercialisation and economic reforms programs”.
“I want to seize this opportunity to express my profound gratitude to His Excellency, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed CON (Kauran Bauchi), the Executive Governor of Bauchi State for entrusting me with the leadership of the Board of the State Bureau of Privatisation and Economic Reforms.
“I enjoin all of us to put hands together to ensure success of the Privatisation, Commercialisation and other economic reform programmes. This is the only way we can promote excellence that will take us to the Promised Land. I count on your support, encouragement and prayers at all time.”
The Deputy Governor therefore assured that the Board of the State Bureau of Privatisation and Economic Reforms will compliment the efforts of the state government in creating employment opportunities for youths in the state and to produce goods and services for the teeming population.
Responding on behalf of the inaugurated members of the board, the Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Ibrahim Mohammed expressed gratitude and thanks for finding them worthy to serve in the board and promised to justify the confidence reposed in them by working tirelessly towards achieving the desired objectives.
