Cross section of students of Government Secondary School, Tudun Wada, Zone 4, Abuja pay rapt attention to speakers at the dialogue

Speakers at a dialogue on substance use and truancy have identified good behaviour among youths as panacea for a better society.
They made the remarks at the dialogue organized by Advocacy for Behavioral Patterns Initiative (APBPI) at Government Secondary School, Tudun Wada, Zone 4, Abuja on Thursday.
The Director of Media and Advocacy, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Mr. Femi Babafemi who first spoke at the dialogue said drugs affects the aspirations and inspirations of the youths.
He advised the youths not to succumbed to peer pressure by taking to use of drugs.
According to him, many finances of families are affected by victims of drug use as lots of money are required for treatments.
Babafemi pointed out that drug use does not only affects the health of the victim but also that of the family, community and nation.
He spoke about the institution War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) campaign in the NDLEA as well as drug-free campaigns at universities.

In his submission, Public Relations Officer, Nigerian Correctional Service, (NCS), Assistant Controller of Corrections, Abubakar Danlami Umar noted that most inmates in their facility on crimes induced by drugs.
He attributed drug intake to be caused by poor parental guidance, care and supervision.
According to him, the correctional service now advocate behaviour change and has six inmates pursuing their PhD degrees while over 200 are undertaking various degrees.
He pointed out that NDLEA is doing a lot in checkmating use of drugs while teachers are also helping.
ABPI Director of Advocacy Model, Sam Tope Obashun said apart from academic excellence, behaviour change should be recognized among youths.
He said it is always good to do the right thing and should be rewarded noting that “good behaviour pays.”
Some students of Government Secondary School, Tudun Wada were recognized for good behaviour and were awarded certificates and cash by Vento International Trading Limited as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Vento has seven other showrooms outside Abuja.
Those who received the award are Salamatu Salisu, Rukkayat Abdulrahman and Afamfuna Chinedu.
