Deputy Rector bags traditional title of ‘Hakimin Gamji’ of Taraba Polytechnic

Thousands of students of Taraba State Polytechnic, Suntai have conferred the Deputy Rector (Academic), Mr. Paul Peter Notani with the prestigious traditional title of Hakimin Gamji of the institution.
Leader of the student’s Emirates Council and Sarkin Gamji, Arabi Ahmed said the new Hakimin Gamji has distinguished himself as a rare gem whose contributions, love and relationship with students cannot be found anywhere hence the collective recognition.
According to the emirate leader, the title is the highest in northern Nigeria by the student’s emirate council which he said the deputy rector deserved because of his outstanding commitment both with students and the larger society.
He added that his choice cuts across the support of all students including lecturers and appreciated the deputy rector for accepting the request.
Speaking to journalists after the event, the new Hakimin Gamji said he lacked words to express himself as the whole process was unexpected.
According to him, the decision of students emirate council of Gamji to confirm him with the new title was not made known to him even as they found him worthy for the honor.
The deputy rector while appreciating God Almighty for the history made, he however promised to work hard to justify the confidence established in him, saying to whom much is given, much is also expected.
The new Hakimin Gamji who thanked the students emirate council for show of love encouraged them to remain resolute in their studies as well as being worthy ambassadors of the institution.
He equally appreciated management and staff of the institution for cordial relationships which he observed paved the way for peace and unity to strived.
