Landmark as Nigeria Association of Auctioneers inaugurates caretaker, electoral, constitution review committees

The National Executive Council of Nigeria Association of Auctioneers (NAA) has been dissolved following an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) held in Abuja.
The meeting was attended by the Board of Trustees and majority of the states and National Executives at the weekend.
Nine-member Caretaker and Electoral Committees were formed from the six geopolitical zones.
The Chairman of both the Caretaker and Electoral Committees is Hajiya Salamatu Abdullahi while Barrister Ben Coco Attah was appointed Secretary of both Caretaker, Electoral and Constitution Review Committees.
The Committee will be piloting affairs of the NAA to have a seamless election of new Executive in the next Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Speaking at the inauguration of the Caretaker/Electoral and Constitution Review Committee, the Chairman, Board of Trustees, HRM King Alfred Diete-Spiff, CFR said “We unanimously agreed in the last AGM held at Osogbo, Osun State that there will be Emergency General Meeting in June or July this year to discuss three key issues such as review of the Constitution, issue of over-stayed executives who were elected since 2013 and the issue of unaudited Account and Financial Reports of 2021, 2022 and 2023.”
He further stated that while former National President of the Association, Alhaji Aliyu Kiliya failed to convene the meeting since June and after two weeks notice given for this meeting, it is disappointing that he fails to attend”.
Also, a seven-member Constitution Review Committee was constituted to review the constitution to be approved and adopted in the next AGM.
The former General Secretary of the NAA, Engr. Isibor Abhulimen proposed a reconciliation to address past grievances and to strengthen the Association through increased membership.
He said “There is strength in unity and numbers, those willing to return should do so with a clear mind of reconciliation”.
The meeting comprises 67 members of both the BoT and Executives from 24 states across the six geopolitical zones of the Federation.
The 2021, 2022 and 2023 Financial Reports were presented by the former Financial Secretary, Hajiya Salamatu Abdullahi with support of the former Treasurer, Chief I.K. Nwankwo and adopted by members present.
