Senator Lalong, right, shares a thought with a sympathiser at the requiem Mass

Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District Simon Bako Lalong was among sympathizers who converged on Shendam to bid farewell to late Richard Adamu Tallen, son of former Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline Tallen who died recently at the age of 42.

The requiem mass held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cathedral Shendam was attended by many sympathizers from within and outside Plateau State.

Senator Lalong described Richard as a promising young man who did his best to develop his talents and gifts in the service of his immediate community, State and nation.

Lalong said although he died at a young age, his legacies will continue to be remembered.

The Catholic Bishop of Shendam Diocese Most Rev. Philip Dung and other officiating Priests who celebrated the mass reminded the people to always remember death which brings an end to earthly sojourn, opening the doors for eternal judgement.

They described Richard as a young man who started his formative years serving in the church where he was taught the word of God which guided him throughout his life.

Speaking on behalf of the family Hon. Leo Dilkon said Richard was a man of many parts who was not perfect, but did his best to share love, compassion and laughter with people who came across him.

He expressed happiness that Richard made peace with his maker before his demise.

Long Gamai of Gamailand, HRH Miskoom Martin Shaldas III appreciated the sympathizers for honoring the late Richard who is a Prince of Gamailand.

His body was later interred at the family burial ground in Shendam where Senator Lalong joined other family members to bid him farewell.
