The late Chief of Akulu (Ikulu) Chiefdom in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State, His Royal Highness Agom Akulu Yohannah Sidi Kukah, who passed away on Thursday after a brief illness, will be laid to rest on Saturday, 28th December, in his hometown of Kamuru.

Confirming the burial arrangements to newsmen, Samuel Kukah, a brother to the deceased, described the late monarch as more than just a sibling but a dedicated ruler committed to fostering peace and unity within his domain. “That’s why Akulu Chiefdom is one of the most peaceful in Kaduna State,” he said.

The late Agom Akulu, an elder brother to the renowned Catholic Bishop of Sokoto, Matthew Hassan Kukah, served as the District Head of Anchuna for nine years before ascending as the Paramount Ruler of Akulu Chiefdom, a position he held for 14 years.

He passed away at the age of 71 and is survived by his wife, six children, and one grandchild.
