The Southern Kaduna Christian Leaders Association (SKCLA) has called on the people of the region to embrace love and unity as essential steps toward building a strong and progressive society.

Speaking at the annual Southern Kaduna Prayer Summit in Kafanchan, Apostle Emmanuel Kure, SKCLA President, emphasized the need for collective action to rebuild the region.

“It’s time to unite and become one mind with one goal to rebuild the structures of Southern Kaduna. We must unite and love our neighbours, including Muslims. Otherwise, there will be no future for us,” Kure said.

He commended the Federal and State Governments for the relative peace being enjoyed in Southern Kaduna in recent times.

“With the coming of the present administration, insecurity seems to have fizzled out in this part of the state. For the last two years, we can now breathe and sleep with both eyes closed as peace has returned to the land,” he added.

Hon. Edward Percy Masha, Kaduna State PDP Chairman, commended the organizers of the prayer summit, describing it as a platform for fostering unity and hope. He urged the government to ensure fairness and equality in addressing the needs of all citizens, emphasizing that peace thrives when people feel equally treated.

Hon. Yunana Markus Barde, Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs in Kaduna State, lauded the summit as a spiritual upliftment for the people of Southern Kaduna. He highlighted the importance of recognizing that everyone is an instrument in the hand of God, urging the attendees to see themselves as agents of positive change.

Hon. Ali Kalat, Minority Leader of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, also praised the event, stating that such gatherings play a vital role in uniting the people. He reaffirmed the commitment of leaders in the region to bringing meaningful development to Southern Kaduna and the state as a whole.

The Guest Speaker, Bishop Zakka Nyam of the Anglican Diocese of Kano, expressed optimism for a brighter future, predicting that 2025 would mark a significant turnaround for Southern Kaduna and its people.

In his remarks, Henry Magaji, Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, described Southern Kaduna as a land with immense potential, urging residents to rally behind the state government to reap the dividends of democracy.

Themed “Come, Let Us Reason Together,” the prayer summit featured song ministrations and intercessory prayers for Southern Kaduna, Kaduna State, and the nation at large.
