Chief Obegolu hosts Brazilian delegation to exclusive business networking cocktail

The President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), Chief Emeka Obegolu, SAN, PhD, on Wednesday hosted a distinguished Brazilian delegation to an exclusive cocktail reception at the Prince Adetokunbo Kayode, SAN, Trade and Convention Centre.

The event, attended by approximately 60 Brazilian delegates, provided a platform for networking, engagement, and fostering business partnerships between Nigeria and Brazil.

This was contained in a statement by Olayemi John-Mensah, ACCI Media/Strategy Officer.

In his welcome address, Chief Obegolu emphasized that the gathering was designed not for lengthy discussions but for meaningful interactions, collaboration, and the sealing of business deals that could spur economic growth.

He encouraged a structured seating arrangement where each cocktail table included at least two Nigerian and two Brazilian delegates to promote cross-cultural exchange and business dialogue.

Acknowledging the potential language barrier, he humorously noted that sign language could bridge any communication gaps since, ultimately, “money is the main deal here.”

The ACCI President used the occasion to celebrate and honour Nigeria’s Ambassador to Brazil, recognizing the Ambassador’s pivotal role in strengthening bilateral trade relations and facilitating business opportunities between the two nations.

“We are eager to ensure that the deals initiated here tonight are not only sealed but sustained. This event provides a unique opportunity to build on existing relationships while fostering new ones. As we wine and dine together, let us create partnerships that will drive mutual economic growth,” Chief Obegolu remarked.

The leader of the Brazilian delegation, the Ambassador of Brazil to Nigeria, Mr. Carlos Garcete, expressed his appreciation to ACCI for the warm reception.

He noted that several Brazilian representatives were keen to discuss investment opportunities in Brazil that Nigerian entrepreneurs could leverage.

He further encouraged both sides to seize the occasion to explore mutually beneficial business prospects.

The evening attracted a strong turnout from ACCI’s Executive and council members, and distinguished Platinum members, all of whom actively engaged in discussions to forge new business alliances.

The ambiance of the cocktail event, coupled with its strategic networking framework, underscored ACCI’s commitment to fostering international business collaboration and economic growth.
