Major General Abdul Malik Jibrin, (retired) has disclosed that it would take a long time to fill the vacuum created after the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari, of blessed memory.

He made the disclosure when he went to Daura to condole the family, people of Daura and beyond over the death of his mentor in the army and in mainstream politics.

The General, who is the Secretary of Civil Defense, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Board, (CDCFIB) said, “General Buhari has left a vacuum that would take time to be filled, because since his early days and even before he held positions in the army, he was respected as an honest personality. He went for a course in India, after he came back, instead of using the balance for his personal use, he returned it to government copper.

“Despite been a Military Governor, Head of State and lately as Executive President, he was tasted and trusted as a leader that shunned corruption, despite the tendency of many people in public offices to engage in such bad practices.

“Every soul has a weak point, but from public opinion, his good deeds outweighed his shortcomings,” he said.

The soldier turned Democrat called on Nigerians to emulate his sterling qualities, which entails selflessness instead of selfish aggrandizement.

General Jibril said he and Nigerians are praying for the repose of the soul of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
