The National Coordinator of Ikemba Front, a grassroot support structure of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Anambra State, Sir Arinzechukwu Awogu, has expressed the readiness of the party to retain the Anambra South Senatorial seat.
“APC is making a loud statement with the senatorial bye-election to the effect that it is the precursor to the November 8th Anambra State governorship election and as such our party will leave no stone unturned to ensure victory. The seat shall be retained by the party and Ikemba Front will be conspicuously involved hence our reason for this assemblage”Awogu said.
He continued: “The demonstration of the party’s readiness to retain the seat is manifest in the emergence of Sir Azuka Okwuosa, a former old Nnewi Local Government Council Chairman, a former Commissioner for Works and Transport in the state, a close confidant of our eternal leader, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu and a friend and supporter of our late principal, Sen. Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah”.

He said: “Our winning the bye-election is further strengthened by the choice of candidates made by the opposition political parties whose candidates for the election are weak, feeble and without endearing ties with the people of the zone, save that they are from the zone. APC is coming out strong for the senatorial bye-election.”
Seven Local Government Areas are involved in the Anambra South senatorial bye-election. They are: Aguata, Ekwusigo, Ihiala, Nnewi North, Nnewi South, Orumba North and Orumba South.
All the major political parties have fielded names of their candidates for the bye election with ADC having Barr. Chukwudi Amangbo, as its candidate; Hon. Chuma Nzeribe – Labour Party; Dr. Emma Nwachukwu – APGA; Prince Ofobuike Okoli-Egbo – YPP and Chief Sir Engr. Azuka Okwuosa for APC.
Sir Awogu insisted that the candidate of APC, Sir Azuka Okwuosa is the most prepared and qualified for the job, asking the people of Anambra South senatorial zone to vote the APC candidate for wide range of impactful representation.
Sir Okwuosa who also was in the strategic meeting was accompanied by his Campaign Director General, Hon. Theophilus Nnorom, Dr. Mrs Nkechi Nnoli, Chief Maxwell Ujubuonu, Chief Obi Onwuachu, Hon. Amobi Nwafor, Hon. Chika Ezenwaka, Hon. Onyeka Owelle Mbaso among others.
