Best of academic, creativity unearth at Eagles Academy, Aso Pada, Speech, Prize Giving Day

The best of academy and creativity came into play on Saturday at the Annual Speech and Prize Giving Day of Eagles Academy, Aso Pada, Mararaba, Nasarawa State.

Kids, pupils and students of the institution in their top attires displayed their finest with debates, cultural presentations, songs, dances to the delight of parents and guests.

Apart from these, there were lots to eat and drink as parents and guests watched their children’s excellence performance and distribution of gifts and prizes in a convenient ambience of the school in great admiration.

Guest Speaker at the occasion, Associate Professor Dalat Gershom Danglah of the Department of History and Diplomatic Studies, Nasarawa State University, Keffi, said parents have a huge role to play in the upbringing of their children but have left everything to the teachers.

According to him, even when children have passion for the professions, it is the parents that should first bring them up to show more interest.

He knocked the federal government’s intention to turn writing examinations of West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) and National Examination Council (NECO) by Computer Based Tests (CBT) saying Nigeria is not ready for it.

Professor Danglah gave the poser: “CBT is good, it a global thing, but are we ready for it? Are our leaders ready for it? Are our parents ready for it?”

The Head Facilitator of the school, Patience Akor, in her presentation congratulated those graduating and others moving to the next class for performing excellently.

She pointed out that they are great leaners and will be future giants.

In an interview, the Chairman, Parents Facilitators Association (PFA), Mr. Gado Habila appreciated the virtuous way and manner the school coordination their children.

He noted that the school has a functional computer laboratory where the children are taught the fundamentals of computer.

Habila said as PFA, it is their responsibility to assist the school in whichever way it can and had provided a synthetic grass for the playground.
