He admitted that: “No society thrives where there is insecurity”, stressing: “We must first secure lives and property before securing the economy”.
He said Anambra State is known for manufacturing and commerce, therefore pledged that he would encourage policies that would support what the people of the State know how to do best.
Other key areas of focus according to him, include providing agricultural revolution, and infrastructural development.
He also assured that he would leverage the state’s abundant gas deposit in Ayamelum Local Government Area and other parts of the state to improve power generation and distribution, describing electricity as the:“key to transforming the economy.”
Prince Ukachukwu promised to rehabilitate and expand the long-neglected road linking Nnewi South, Anaocha, and Njikoka, with Ichida at its centre, saying that the project would not only involve repairs but dualisation and the construction of additional routes to ease movements, open up communities, and significantly boost economic activities across the three Local Governments Areas.
Ikukuoma (Wind of glory) as he is fondly called by his admirers vowed to revolutionise agriculture in the entire state through sustainable value chain, noting that farming could provide jobs, ensure food security and tame youth restiveness
He supported the community’s healthcare project with princely donation and promised to instal more solar-powered streetlights at strategic points within the community.
Earlier the traditional ruler of Ichida community, Igwe Charles Ezeudogu, while receiving Prince Ukachukwu in his palace described him as a worthy son of Anambra State who has distinguished himself in everything he has set to do in life in every part of the world.
He noted that he has been friend, pillar of strength and pride to many Anambra youths, businessmen and families for decades.
Pledging his support for Ukachukwu’s governorship ambition, the traditional ruler, described Prince Ukachukwu as: “a versatile and successful industrialist”
The President General of the community in his remarks reiterated their relationship from the Igwulube Okotu clan who naturally looks out for one another, assuring Ukachukwu of their full support.
The community’s Youth Leader, Mr Chukwuemeka Ezenwaka, assured Prince Ukachukwu of the support of the youth, stressing that young people’s support for him was principally because of his personality and track record as a versatile investor as against some candidate’s empty political promises.
