The coalition of youth groups and women under the auspices of the Nasarawa South Progressive Network has called on Mr Muhammed Maikaya to contest for the Nasarawa State Governorship seat in the 2027 general elections.

Comrade Abdulraman Ibrahim, the Coordinator of the group said at the occasion “The Clarion Call, Fresh Vision, Real Impact organised by the group on Saturday in Lafia that the call was informed by Maikaya’s selfless service and contribution to humanity.

According to him, Maikaya’s antecedents in the state, ranging from human capital development to infrastructural development, have set him apart amongst the aspirants.

He said that Nasarawa State deserves the best after the administration of Gov Abdullahi Sule.

He, therefore called on the people of the state to prevail on Maikaya to join the Governorship race.

Ibrahim said the Maikaya Foundation has registered more than 750 vulnerable people with the state health insurance to access better healthcare.

The Coordinator also said that no fewer than 525 students in tertiary institutions benefited from Maikaya Development Foundation’s yearly education support funds in 2025.

He said that the Maikaya Foundation has contributed immensely to rural electrification in the state through the provision of transformers to underserved communities across the state.

Ibrahim noted Maikaya Foundation has brought hope to the forgotten grassroots by empowering youth and women groups, drilling of boreholes, and providing instructional materials to schools across the state.

“As 2027 elections draw nearer, the call is clear and resounding ‘Vote for Maikaya’ is not just a slogan but a clarion call for a better Nasarawa State.

“If you are tired of politics as usual, this is your wake-up call. Maikaya isn’t just running for office, but he is running for us; he is running for the betterment of Nasarawa state,” he said.

Ibrahim described Maikaya as a reliable force that has been steadily building bridges of peace, unity, and harmonious coexistence across the state.

The coordinator, therefore, called on the people of the state to register for a voter’s card to enable them to exercise their civic right in the 2027 general elections.

“I am also calling on the people of the state to vote for Maikaya, because voting for Maikaya is voting for good governance, is voting for infrastructural development, is voting for human empowerment,” he emphasised.

On her part, Mrs Blessing Isah, while calling on Maikaya to accept the call to contest for the Governorship seat, urged women and young girls to rally around him.

“Maikaya is the answer, he speaks from the heart, acts from conviction. He is the politician who listens before he leads, ensuring every voice from farmers in the fields to the traders in the market counts,” she declared.
