Katsina Governor Radda decorates DSP Bello as Superintendent of Police, charges on sustaining professionalism, dedication

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, on Thursday decorated the Chief Security Officer of Government House, DSP Abdulganiyu Bello, following his promotion to the rank of Superintendent of Police by the Nigeria Police Force.
The decoration ceremony took place at Government House, Katsina, with senior government officials and security personnel in attendance.
Governor Radda congratulated SP Bello on his well-deserved promotion, describing him as a dedicated and professional officer whose commitment to duty has consistently distinguished him throughout his career.
“SP Bello is a model of professionalism, discipline, and unwavering dedication. Since he assumed duty as my Chief Security Officer, he has demonstrated exceptional competence, loyalty, and commitment to ensuring the safety and security of this administration,” Governor Radda stated.
The governor commended Bello’s service to Katsina State and charged him to sustain the professionalism and dedication that earned him the promotion, while continuing to serve the country with integrity and excellence.
SP Abdulganiyu Bello was born on January 1, 1980, in Kofar Sauri, Katsina Local Government. He joined the Nigeria Police Force in 2000 after training at Police College Kaduna and has served in various capacities across the country.

He served in Maiduguri, Borno State; Zamfara State Command; Kebbi State Police Command; and Force Headquarters Abuja.
He participated in Operation Delta Safe in Warri as Unit Commander and served at 24 PMF Presidential Villa Abuja as Unit Commander in 2019.
Between 2021 and 2022, SP Bello served as Escort Commander to the Chief of Staff to the President, Professor Ibrahim Gambari. In 2023, he was posted as Officer-in-Charge of Defence House Abuja, escorting President-elect Bola Tinubu.
On the inauguration day of Governor Radda in May 2023, SP Bello was posted as Escort Commander to the Governor and later appointed Chief Security Officer, a position he holds to date.
He attended leadership courses at Police Staff College Jos and the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies Abuja, and underwent combat training operations at Gwoza Camp, Maiduguri, in 2003 and Ila Orangun, Osun State, in 2013.
SP Bello holds a diploma in Crime Management, Prevention and Control from Zamfara College of Art and Science and has participated in numerous seminars and workshops throughout his career.
Governor Radda expressed confidence that SP Bello’s promotion will spur him to greater achievements in his career while continuing to provide exemplary security leadership at Government House.
The ceremony was attended by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nasir Yahaya Daura; Chief of Staff Hon Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir, Wife of SP Bello, Hajiya Muhusina Abdulganiyu; Commissioner of Police, Bello Shehu; Director of DSS; 17 Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Babatunde Omopariola; State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps; Alhaji Abbas Dan ile Moriki, Commissioner for Rural and Social Development Prof. Abdulhamid Ahmed Mani; Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Hon. Nasir Mu’azu.
Others are Commissioner for Water Resources, Dr. Bishir Gambo Saulawa;; SA Chieftaincy Affairs, Chairman Katsina State Pilgrims Welfare Board Alhaji Kabiru Bature Sarkin Alhazai, APC State Publicity Secretary and Board Member North West Development Commission, Alhaji Shamsu Sule Funtua, Hon. Abba Jaye amongst others.
