Tinubu Hails Mass Defection to APC in Southern Kaduna, Promises More Reforms

President Bola Tinubu has expressed satisfaction with the defection of members of opposition political parties to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, across the country and urged the APC’s leadership to draw more to the party.

The President stated this during a Southern Kaduna Mega Rally, organized by the APC for the reception of defectors from the region held over the weekend at new Township stadium Kafanchan.

President Tinubu who was represented by his chief of staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, also said the region was now beginning to be awaken by the APC’s reforms and pledged that the best was yet to come.

In his speech, the Speaker of the House of Representatives Dr. Tajudeen Abbas, said President Tinubu has shown unmatched commitment to the development of Southern Kaduna and that the mass defection to the ruling APC was a living proof of inclusion and justice by the APC – led administration.

Abbas described the decision by Senator Sunday Marshall Katung, Rep. Daniel Amos and others to defect to the APC as a new dawn in the politics of Southern Kaduna and, indeed, Nigeria.

The Speaker who said the mass defection was driven by conviction, assured that with the development, Southern Kaduna was now a priority for national development.

The National chairman of the All Progressives Congress APC, Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, who was represented by Garba Datti Mohammed, called for loyalty and unity among party members.

On his part, Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State, said the state was running its administration as a family without any form of bias or discrimination on gender or religion and thanked all for maintaining the peace.

Speaking on behalf of the decampees, Senator Sunday Marshal Katung, said they defected to the APC due to the administration’s sustained growth in the region as championed by the President and the state governor and called for support to the APC administration to pave the way for more development.

Other decampees include Mr. Ali Kalat, Mr. Donatus Mathew Kuzalio, Mr. Yusuf Mugu, Mr. David Gurara, Mr. Emmanuel Kantyok and Mrs. Comfort Amweh, among others.
