Association renews emphasis on Akwa Ibom unity

The people of Ubium local government area of Akwa Ibom State living in the state capital, Uyo, have stressed the need for their people not only to live in peace amongst themselves in the diaspora but to work towards greater unity of the people of the state.
They made the resolve when they constituted a new executive committee led by a former Special Assistant to the Minister of Interior, Deputy Comptroller of Immigration (Rtd.) Ime Unaowo Nta, to lead the Ubium Development Association (UDA), in Uyo LGA.
They said there was a need for all to work for greater unity, development, and social progress in their local government area and the state as a whole.
According to a release by the publicity secretary of the association, Akpan Sunday Nelson, Nta has pledged to enhance communication and engagement among members towards consolidating on unity, peace and enterprise.

He stated that his tenure will galvanise resources and talents of the group to drive membership and enhance their objectives.
“We’ll reach out to Ubium sons and daughters within and beyond Uyo, and empower the youths through leadership, innovation, and excellence.
“There’s the need for renewed unity, shared purpose, and collective commitment to community development”, the former Passport Control Officer said.
He commended distinguished sons and daughters of Ubium LGA who have not spared their resources towards the enhancement of the Association for their greater development.
Secretary of the association, Etopobong Okoko said a
new era of progress, inclusivity, and transformative impact bas set in.
He said that collectively they will work to translate their vision into action and to further entrench the spirit of unity and development in their local government area.
