By Comrade Austin Asadu

Sheikh Abdulkadir Salman Jummah Alfa Oba Sholagberu is a foremost lslamic scholar, religious leader, spiritual advocate and fearless clergyman who preaches, embodies and practices the main pillars of the lslamic faith as enshrined in the Holy Book.
Indeed Sheikh Oba Sholagberu inculcates the sterling character traits of leadership by example and not by precept and true to his teachings shuns lavish displays of material wealth and affluence living an ascetic life of simplicity and abstinence in strict subservience to the will of the Almighty Allah.
The influential lslamic teacher hails from the ancient llorin Emirate and is the first Mallami Ubadoma of the Emirate having distinguished himself as a courageous, selfless, forthright and principled advocate of pious, exemplary and tolerant observance of the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Sheikh Oba Sholagberu was appointed as the Chief lmam of Abuja Central Mosque in December 2024 having served as one of the lmams of the Mosque for many years during which time he has gained a deserved reputation for piety, generosity, tolerance, compassion and fortitude in all positive ramifications.
Apart from leading congregational prayers, delivering sermons, providing spiritual and ethical guidance, acting as a community leader and fostering unity, religious education and engaging in community outreach; a compassionate Sheikh Oba Sholagberu has emerged as a forthright and consistent advocate for the welfare and wellbeing of Muslim women, youths, the physically challenged and other vulnerable members of society.
In his daily sermons and regular ministrations, Sheikh Sholagberu has called for more inclusion, support and guidance for these vulnerable groups and has also challenged them to adhere to lslamic religious and spiritual dictates.
For instance, the erudite Chief lmam has urged Muslim women to regularly attend Mosque prayers in order to enhance their spiritual, physical and domestic well-being.
According to an introspective
Sheikh Sholagberu: ‘Our Muslim women should be regular in praying at the mosque, for the daily five prayers and the Friday Jumaat prayers’ .
We are urging our women to be regular in mosque attendance based on the injunctions of Islam and the sayings of the Ulama and the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)’.
They should pray regularly in the mosque because of what they stand to gain from the sermons delivered by the Imams. You know, the khutbah of Jummat is meant for educating and exposing Muslims to a lot of spiritual and religious injunctions’ .
So, Muslim women will know what to do regarding their family life, their husbands, and the upbringing of our children according to sound Islamic principles’.
This is particularly important because of the challenges we are facing in these contemporary times’ – he emphasised.
Indeed the Chief lmam of Abuja Central Mosque, Sheikh Dr Abdulkadir Salman Jummah Alfa Oba Sholagberu is an embodiment of peace, tolerance, faith, generosity, compassion and selfless service to humanity and the Almighty Allah. Alhalmudullahi.
