In a remarkable display of practical Christianity, the Very Rev. Fr. Dr. George Adimike, a Catholic priest of the Onitsha Archdiocese, has once again shown his commitment to uplifting the less privileged.
The Priest recently visited Diaba in Opi-Agu, Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State, to inspect the construction of a residential bungalow he is building for a widow and her four children.
Fr. Adimike, well known for his selfless humanitarian efforts, has long combined evangelism with charity through his non-governmental organization, Faithspiration Initiative.
The Group has continued to impact lives across communities by providing spiritual guidance and tangible support to those in need.
Through Faithspiration Initiative, Fr. Adimike and his team have carried out several outreach programs in rural and urban communities including Mbutu, Olumbanasa, and Ayamelum in Anambra State; Opi-Agu and Agbani in Enugu State; and even Bamenda in Cameroon. Within Onitsha metropolis, their presence has been felt in underprivileged areas such as Nkpor New Parts, MCC Junction, Niger Bridge, Ugah Junction, and Upper Iweka.
This latest project follows his previous effort, in which he built a bungalow for another widow, Mrs. Roseline Ugwuezema. The ongoing project a three room and one sitting room bungalow is for Mrs. Anthonia, also a widow struggling to raise her four children.
During his recent inspection visit, Fr. Adimike, who also is the Director of Communications for the Onitsha Catholic Archdiocese, shared an update with supporters via video message.
He said: “I rushed to Diaba in Opi-Agu, Nsukka this morning to inspect the ongoing three-room and one sitting-room bungalow for the poor widow, Mrs. Anthonia. I came to ensure that she and her four children will soon have a decent place to live. By God’s grace, the house will be completed in less than two weeks. A million thanks to everyone for your financial, moral, and spiritual support.”
Fr. Adimike’s journey from Anambra to Nsukka, coupled with his consistent outreach to the poor, reflects the Gospel’s message of compassion and service as expressed in Matthew 25:42–43.
Many have described him as a “Mother Teresa of our time,” a priest whose compassion transcends boundaries and whose generosity continues to transform lives irrespective of faith or background.
