Beware of hypocrites in Kebbi politics
By Abdullahi Idris Sadaukin Zuru
As the political build-up towards 2027 elections gathers momentum, it’s evident that some ambitious politicians in Kebbi State have relentlessly attempting to employ the politics of hypocrisy and deception in the pursuit of their political ambitions towards the 2027 general elections.
As it’s evidently clear, the desparate self-appointed governorship aspirant of the Advance Democratic Party (ADC)Abubakar Malami is allegedly enticing some members of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) with mouth watering offers to secretly support his desparate ambition following the failure of the several unsuccessful attempts to change the mindset of the people of Kebbi State on their absolute confidence of Comrade Governor Nasir Idris result oriented and purposeful leadership.
The failed attempts included organising political thuggery comprising thugs and hooligans to create an impression of insecurity in the state.
Under the new organised strategic campaign of calumny, it was alleged that the politicians being enticed with mouth watering offers will be used for the execution of the destructive campaign of calumny against Governor Nasir kauran Gwandu and his administration.
The persistent armed banditry menace that affects almost all the states in the north was alleged to have been chosen to be the only weapon of fighting the people owned Kebbi State government.
In the selfish and unpatriotic thinking of the opposition, the security challenges being experienced in the state is detrimental to Governor Nasir Idris while the Governor considered it as a calamity that affects the people of the state and remain committed to overcoming the unfortunate situation, by all means and at all cost.

The new strategy will centre on the use of the media organisations through packaging and distribution of fabricated falsehood and mischievous allegations against the second term bid for President Tinubu and Comrade Governor Nasir Idris for distribution and usage by FM Radio stations and social media platforms for which over N100,000 has already been released to the Abuja based coordinating office as mobilisation fee.
As the desparate self-appointed governorship aspirant of the Advance Democratic Party (ADC) awaits possible positive response from the greedy and paperweight politicians, some of the remnants members of the People’s Democratic Party were said have expressed their preference to remain in their party rather than join a party with bleak and uncertain future. Their fears were said to avoid the possibility of witnessing another disastrous defeat, worse than their 2023 experience, in view of the remarkable achievements recorded by the sitting Governor Nasir Idris so far.
However, expectedly some unproducive amateur politicians in the All the Congress (APC), blind folded by greed and selflessness, are allegded to be considering joining forces with Abubakar Malami to, at all cost sabotage the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Comrade Governor Nasir Idris in 2027.
As could be noticed in recent times, the opposition in Kebbi State has centred its campaign of calumny on attempts to politicise the nationwide insecurity challenges.
As designed in their reviewed strategy, secondary schools dropped out, political thugs and prostitutes are allegdedly being recruited to execute their nefarious agenda.
The engaged youths, particularly those from Bena, alleged to have been picked from the streets with no trace of biological parents and eventually introduced to drug abuse.
For effective discharge of their assignment, they were alleged to have been provided with expensive mobile phones to use the different social media platforms for consistent condemnation of the state government’s developmental projects and insulting government functioneries and party leadership, in addition to exaggeration, fabrication and twisting reports on armed banditry in the state.
Although there is yet to be visible positive response to ADC’s enticement from the members of the All Progressive Congress (APC), a notable member of the party who was alleged to have agreed to partner with ADC, was recently reported to have mischievously criticised the execution of roads and educational infrastructure, claiming to be more concerned about the security challenges.
It is on record that Comrade Governor Nasir Idris has demonstrated unwavering commitment towards finding lasting solutions to the armed banditry menace by hosting meetings of the major critical stakeholders in the nation’s security affairs. The stakeholders included the Northern Traditional Rulers Council chaired by Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar with the former Chief of Army Staff General Christopher Musa as the Guest Speaker, Progressive Governors Forum and Kebbi Elders consultative forum chaired by Major-General Muhammadu Magoro.
Others were the interfaith religious Special prayer attended by Islamic Scholars, pastors and reverend fathers from across the state and a Summit organised by Arewa Broadcast Media Practitioners with the Theme “Existential threats and national security challenges in Nigeria” attended by a former Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Abdulrahaman Danbazau, a former Director of Military information Major-General Usman Kuka sheka and Professor Attahiru Jega.
In addition to all the organised consultative forums, Comrade Governor Nasir has provided logistics support to the security agencies with 100 Hillux vehicles and 5,000 motorcycles.
At the end of the various consultations, the participants acknowledged and commended the visible efforts being made by Comrade Governor Nasir Idris in collaboration with nation’s security stakeholders in finding solution to the unfortunate insecurity situation.
There is no gain saying that the various orchestrated destructive campaign of calumny being hatched by the opposition is a product of desperation and hopelessness aimed at distracting Comrade Governor Nasir Idris from sustaining the execution of his administration’s comprehensive socio-economic development programmes.
