Bauchi seals ₦3.4bn deal for mega trailer park in Azare

Bauchi State gov’t has signed a ₦3.4 billion agreement for the construction of a modern mega trailer park in Azare town, Katagum Local Government Area, in a move aimed at expanding transport infrastructure and boosting economic activity in the northern zone of the state.
Signing on behalf of the state government,the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Aminu Hammayo, said the project will feature a fully equipped trailer mechanical workshop, hotel accommodations, business arena, and other essential support facilities designed to meet international standards.
Dr. Hammayo explained that under the terms of the agreement,Truck Transit Park Limited will provide 100 percent funding for the project,while the Bauchi State Government will maintain oversight functions and benefit from revenue generation once operations commence.
He described the project as a major step toward strengthening commercial activities and improving organised transport operations.
Also speaking,the Director General of the Bauchi State Markets and Terminals Authority,Muhammad Kabir Sizwe Sa’id, said the initiative aligns with the present administration’s commitment to modernising markets, terminals, and trailer parks across the state.
He noted that the project will not only enhance operational efficiency but also improve the safety and welfare of truck drivers and traders.
In his remarks,the Managing Director of Truck Transit Park Limited,Engr. Jama Onwubuariri, expressed confidence in the partnership,describing Bauchi State as a strategic location for investment in logistics and transit infrastructure.
He assured that the company is committed to delivering a world-class facility that will stimulate economic growth,create jobs,and serve as a model for similar developments across the country.
Engr. Onwubuariri added that the mega trailer park will provide a safer,more organised environment for long-distance truck operators, reduce roadside congestion, and contribute to the overall improvement of transportation services in Bauchi State.
