Adamawa Governor Fintiri launches new Margi national attire

By Joseph Adahnu, Yola

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has declared pride in his Margi heritage and chooses to be born margi if given another opportunity.

The Governor made the declaration during his speech at civic reception in Yola organized by Margi Worldwide, where he also unveiled a new national attire for the ethnic group.

Governor reiterates that, “Should I have the privilege of coming back to this world again, I wouldn’t wish to be anybody else than a Margi man. I am proud of this ancestral base. I am eternally grateful and prouder that I am Margi in all ramification before I am any other thing else.”

This new modern version, Fintiri noted that, is meant to preserve cultural identity while fitting contemporary life, allowing Margi people in Yola, Maiduguri, Lagos, Abuja, or across the seas to wear their heritage with pride.

He recap his administration’s achievements by security improvements, infrastructure development, free education, healthcare reforms, and youth empowerment programs.

Recounting, Fintiri said, “When we began this journey together, Adamawa was weary. The wounds of insecurity were fresh; our schools were broken, our hospitals weak, our roads silent.
Today, Adamawa now stands as one of the most peaceful states in the North-East.
