The Secretary to the Nasarawa State Government, Dr Labaran Magaji, has clarified a rumour and disinformation circulating on social media that questioned his indigeneship of Nasarawa State.

Dr Magaji made this clarification on Monday in Lafia while reacting to social media peddling disinformation about his indigeneship of Nasarawa state.

According to him, his attention has been drawn by several well-meaning personalities to claims questioning his indigeneship of Nasarawa State and alleging that he diverted public funds to Niger State.

He described the allegation as baseless and unfounded, noting that his track record, work, and the people who knew him were sufficient testimony of his integrity and identity.

Magagi said he is a proud indigene of Nasarawa State, who worked so hard to promote the name of the state at both national and international levels by a stint of hard work and professionalism.

He noted that his dedication to Nasarawa state’s progress has always been and remains unwavering.

“I have no intention of joining issues or engaging in personal disputes over unfounded allegations. My track record, my work, and the people who know me are sufficient testimony to my integrity and identity.

“I felt compelled to make this clarification out of a desire to ensure transparency and accountability, being a public officer myself, and in the interest of the overwhelming majority of our dear, good people of Nasarawa State.

“For the avoidance of doubt, I am a proud indigene of Nasarawa State, who worked so hard to promote the name of my dear state at both national and international levels by a stint of hard work and professionalism,” Magaji clarified.

Magaji also clarified that he has never been involved in the misuse, diversion, or misappropriation of public funds in any form in the course of his service in Nasarawa State and the country at large.

He noted that throughout his career, he worked hard to ensure that those involved in such practices were made to face the full wrath of the law.

Magaji said his focus remained firmly on contributing positively to the development of Nasarawa state and would continue to do so with honesty, commitment, and transparency.

“I sincerely appreciate everyone who reached out, expressed concern, and stood by the truth in the face of the misleading information circulating on social media. Your support reinforces my commitment to serving with integrity.
