Governor Bala Mohammed has mourned the death of a renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, who passed away early Thursday in Bauchi.
In a statement signed by his Media Aide, Mukhtar Gidado, the Governor described Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi as a revered teacher and spiritual leader whose life was devoted to the propagation of Islam, the teaching of the Holy Qur’an, and the moral and spiritual upliftment of humanity.
Governor Mohammed extended condolences to the family of the late scholar, his followers, students, and the entire Muslim Ummah across Nigeria and beyond.
He noted that the Sheikh established many schools and centres of learning that produced thousands of Qur’an memorizers and scholars across Africa.
He said the late Sheikh was a custodian of religious knowledge and a voice for peace, tolerance, and understanding among Muslims and other faiths.
The Governor said the Bauchi State Government would continue to honour the scholar’s legacy by supporting Islamic education and community development.
He prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.
