The Society for Family Health (SFH), in a bid to strengthen sustainability for adolescent sexual and reproductive health in Nasarawa State, has supported the state Primary Health-Care Development Agency (NAPHDA) with medical consumables.

Mr Dadong Peter- Andong, Programme Manager A360 project, Society for Family Health, while handing over the material to NAPHDA in Lafia, said SFH aimed to boost adolescent sexual and reproductive health.

According to him, the A360 Amplify project’s strategic support is designed to reinforce the sustainability of ASRH programmes by equipping healthcare providers with the necessary resources to maintain uninterrupted service delivery.

He said the partnership between SFH and NAPHDA reflects a shared commitment to strengthening the primary healthcare system for adolescents, ensuring that gains made through the project endure beyond its active phase.

The programme manager said the initiative aligned with broader state and national goals to improve adolescent health outcomes and empowers young people with the knowledge and services needed to make informed decisions

“The A360 Amplify project in Nasarawa State, operating under the Society for Family Health (SFH), today handed over critical medical consumables and materials to the Nasarawa State Primary Health-Care Development Agency.

“Through collaborative leadership and innovative approaches, the project has significantly contributed to reducing barriers to care and enhancing the health and well-being of married adolescent girls in Nasarawa State.

“This handover marks a crucial milestone, as we reaffirm our dedication to sustaining impact and fostering healthier futures for the youth population of Nasarawa, ultimately contributing to stronger, more resilient communities,” he stated.

Dr Usman-Iskilu Saleh, NAPHDA Executive Secretary, while receiving the items expressed appreciation to SFH for their continued support and partnership.

Dr Saleh acknowledged the positive impact the A360 Amplify project has had on the state’s healthcare system, particularly in improving access to quality maternal and newborn child health services and youth-friendly ASRH services.

He emphasized the critical role that these consumables and materials would play in sustaining service delivery at high-volume health facilities across Nasarawa.

“These supplies are vital in ensuring that our health centres can continue to provide essential services to adolescents, especially married girls, who often face unique reproductive health challenges.

“We are committed to ensuring that all items received will be promptly and efficiently distributed to the facilities that need them most,” Dr Saleh stated.

The handover ceremony, held at the NAPHDA office in Lafia, Nasarawa state, had in attendance key health officials and stakeholders dedicated to advancing adolescent health services in the state.
