Chinua Soludo, son of Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo, brought relief and joy to several families on Christmas Day after making surprise visits to hospitals across the State, where he paid the medical bills of numerous patients.
The Christmas outreach, which covered hospitals in Adazi-Nnukwu, Nnobi, and Ekwulobia, left many patients and their relatives overwhelmed with gratitude, offering prayers and blessings for him. The emotional visits reportedly moved both beneficiaries and Chinua Soludo to tears.
At St. Joseph Hospital, Adazi-Nnukwu in Anaocha Local Government Area, Chinua cleared the outstanding bills of more than five patients. Some beneficiaries also received transportation support to enable them return home to celebrate Christmas with their families.
Among the cases was a woman who had been detained after discharge due to an unpaid bill of ₦933,500, which Chinua paid in full, along with transport fare.
At Nnobi General Hospital, a patient treated for acute malaria had a bill of over ₦120,000 settled, allowing the patient to go home for the festive celebration.
The outreach continued at Ekwulobia General Hospital, where nearly ten women benefited from the payment of their hospital bills and transportation assistance.
This is not the first time Chinua Soludo has embarked on such a humanitarian gesture. Around the same period last year, he visited the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu Teaching Hospital, Awka, where he similarly cleared the bills of dozens of patients.
The gesture has been widely described as a rare and powerful demonstration of compassion, reflecting the true spirit of the Christmas season.
