President Tinubu plans more dividends of democracy for Nigerians – NDE DG

Director General of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), H.E. Silas Agara, instilled a sense of hope among Nigerians, assuring them that the reforms of President Bola Tinubu will materialize and bring positive change better and more in 2026.

Agara shared these optimistic sentiments during an interview with his media crew following a New Year service at the ECWA Good News Church in Akwanga, where congregants gathered to celebrate the dawn of 2026.

January 1, 2026, marks an important historic date, regarded as the first quarter of the 21st century, this day begins a new 365-day journey, as set forth by the Gregorian calendar introduced by Pope Gregory XIII in 1582.

The tradition of celebrating the New Year dates back to ancient civilizations, with its roots found in cultures such as ancient Babylon, Egypt, and Rome.

In Nigeria, particularly in Nasarawa State, many churches conduct special New Year services to express gratitude for God’s mercy and favor, reflecting on the past year and looking forward to future blessings.

This year, Christian faithful in Akwanga gathered at the ECWA Good News Church to thank God for guiding them through the challenges of 2025 while seeking His continued favor and blessings for the new year.

The church service was a assembly of young and old, where diverse members of the community came together in humility and gratitude to honor God’s blessings in their lives.

The atmosphere was filled with praise and joyous songs, acknowledging God as mighty God and everlasting father.

Worshippers lifted their voices in unison, accompanied by the church choir’s melodious hymns, calling upon God for economic rejuvenation and an end to the insecurity that threatens the nation, trusting in His attentive nature.

During the service, Very Rev. Monday Danjuma delivered a powerful message from the Gospel of Matthew 6:33, stressing the importance of prioritizing God.

He explained that seeking divine guidance in all endeavors is crucial for personal and collective growth.

As part of his address, H.E. Silas Agara called on the youth of Nigeria to take an active role in the nation’s development.

He stated the significance of vocational training and entrepreneurship, drawing attention to various initiatives under the National Directorate of Employment aimed at empowering young individuals.

“The future belongs to you,” he encouraged, “and it is our shared responsibility to build a better tomorrow.”
