Death of Sheikh Kaura profound, irreparable loss to Katsina, nation – Presidential delegation
Katsina State Governor and Chairman of the Northern Governors’ Forum, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has received a high-powered presidential delegation on a condolence visit over the passing of the renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Habibu Kaura.
The delegation was led by the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, and included the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum and Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma; the Governor of Yobe State, Hon. Mai Mala Buni; the Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Finance, Hon. James Faleke; and the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political Matters, Alhaji Ibrahim Kabir Masari.
Receiving the delegation, Governor Radda said they were sent by President Bola Tinubu, to personally convey his condolences to the Government and people of Katsina State, as well as the family and followers of the late Sheikh.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Senator Barau I. Jibrin described Sheikh Habibu Kaura as a distinguished son of Katsina State who devoted his life to the service of Islam and humanity, leaving behind an enduring legacy of scholarship, piety and upright conduct.
He said the President considered the death of the cleric a profound and irreparable loss, not only to Katsina State but to the entire nation.
Senator Barau conveyed the President’s prayers that Almighty Allah forgive the shortcomings of the late scholar, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus, and give his family, disciples and the entire Ummah the fortitude to bear the great loss.
Special prayers were offered by Sheikh Malam Garba Galadima of Charanchi and Sheikh Yakubu Musa Hassan, who prayed for Allah’s mercy upon the deceased and for peace, unity and stability in Katsina State and Nigeria at large.
Dignitaries in attendance included the Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nasir Yahaya Daura; the State Chairman of the APC, Hon. Sani Abdullahi (Sani JB); and other top government and party officials.
