‎Former foreign affairs minister Idi Hong resigns from PDP‎

A former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Aliyu Idi Hong has resigned his membership from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
‎In a statement made on Monday, February 9, 2026 made available to journalists in Yola, Dr. Hong said his decision was personal after wide constructions with family members, friends, and political associates.
‎”I write to formerly tender my resignation for the PDP Shangui ward, Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa state,” the statement noted.
‎He also said his decision was after careful reflection on the previewing circumferences and his future political direction.
‎Dr. Hong thanked the party at the ward, local government and state levels for the support and co-operation extended to him over the years.
