Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has approved the sales of housing estates on owner-Occupier basis to its tenants in Maiduguri metropolis.
This was disclosed by state Commissioner Housing and Energy, Engr Yuguda Saleh Vungas, during the re-inauguration of committee on the sales of housing estates on owner occupier basis as directed by the state governor towards ensuring equitable sales of the estates to benefiting civil servants and other tenants alike.
It could be recalled that the Committee had in July 2019 submitted its final findings to the state government for necessary appraisal and consideration but as if government was not satisfied with the committee report,hence the need to re-inaugurate it,and directed it to implement all the recommendations earlier presented to the Governor.
A breakdown of the rates of the various bedroom flats included a 4- bedroom flat went for N3 million 3- bedroom flat at N2.225 million, just the 2- bedroom flat stood for N1.5 million as well as 1-bedroom flat at N750,000 only.
The affected housing estates mostly situated in MAIDUGURI metropolis,included,
the 202, 303, 505 and 777 estates as well as the 1000 Housing Estate.
