Peace keeping: Commanding Officer, 72 Special Forces, Lt.- Col. Alhassan honoured for professionalism

The Commanding Officer, 72 Special Forces Battalion, Makurdi, Benue State,  Lt.-Col. AD Alhassan, has been honoured by West African College of Freelance Journalism in collaboration with the Commonwealth College of Bishops and Clergy Councils for the tremendous achievements the 72 Special Forces Battalion have recorded under his command.

The Council in an abridged statement by it’s Executive Director, Bishop Abel King further highlighted the resilience and Commitment of the Commanding officer and the professionalism of his troops in combating security threats in the middle belt, it’s envrions and the country at large. The statement further said the performance of other security agencies has been enhanced through the sterling leadership skills of the Commanding Officer particularly in Benue State and middle belt.

This calls for recognition so as to encourage and further boost the morale of the Nigerian Army and it’s personnel to continue to do more to restore and maintain the existing Peace in the State and the region. “At a time that professionalism is been tested by activities of criminals, Lt.-Col. AD Alhassan has lived up to the task of securing lives and property as well as guaranteeing an enabling environment for citizens to thrive without let or hindrance” the award committee chairman added.

The Nigerian Army under the leadership of Lt Gen Turkur Yusuf Buratai has proven itself time and again by giving responsibility to tested hands such as demonstrated by the Commanding Officer 72 Special Forces Battalion. The group appealed to president Buhari administration to continue to support the Nigerian Army to compliment our conventional security agencies for lasting peace in the country.

“The Nigerian Army continues to be our last line of defence at all times and must be encouraged to give out their best for our over all good.”

In a similar developtment the group promised to Commision a street in honour of the Chief of Army staff Lt. Gen. Turkur Yusuf Buratai as a mark of honor for his selfless service to the Nigerian Army and the country.
