Adamawa Governor, Fintiri swears in 50 Development Area admins

Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri Wednesday swore in 50 Development Area Administrators with a charge on them to address the immediate needs of the people in line with the vision of the administration.

The Governor at a ceremony held in the Mahmud Ribadu Square, Yola, tasked them to focus on security and welfare of the people which are the co mandates of creating the development areas in the state.

He reminded the administrators of the enormous challenge before them and urged them to eschew corruption in all ramifications bearing in mind that the state has suffered a lot of setbacks ranging from bad governance and insurgency among others.

Governor  Fintiri warned that any administrator who goes contrary to the dictates of creating the development areas should have himself to blame as the present administration has come on board to diligently serve the citizenry.

He congratulated them for their emergence and urged them to work hard and serve the people with dedication and sincerity in order to justify the confidence reposed in them by government.

Earlier In his welcome address, the State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Barrister Tahir Shehu enjoined the administrators to be mindful of the oath they took and provide purposeful leadership to the people at the grassroots.

He also urged them to carry along people in running the administration of the state development areas in addition called on people of Adamawa to give them maximum cooperation and be patient with the Fintiri led present administration as it is poised to better the lives of the people.

In his vote of thanks on behalf of his colleagues, the Administrator Yola Central Development Area, Mr Martins Madanga thanked the Governor for finding them worthy of the appointments and pledge their unflinching loyalty and support to government.

He lauded the Governor for the feat attained by his administration in the provision of good governance and dividends of democracy to the people in Adamawa and assured him that they will extend same to the people at the grassroots.

Highlight of the event was administering the oath of office and that of allegiance on the fifty Development Area Administrators by the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice Barrister Afraimu Jingi.
