Major-General F. Yahaya, former GOC 1 Division, Kaduna has been appointed new Theatre Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole, (OPLD), Maimalari Cantonement, Maiduguri, Borno State.
He took over from Maj-Gen. Gabriel O. Adeniyi who has been redeployed as new Senior Research Fellow at NARC with immediate effect.
Similarly, the Chief of Civil Military Affairs, Gen U. S. Mohammed will be replaced by Maj-Gen. H. I. Bature from Defence headquarters DHQ Liaison office National Assembly, Abuja.
The postings and appointments which have since been approved by Chief of Army Staff, (COAS), Lt Gen. Tukur Buratai is meant to rekindle spirit of professionalism in the Army as aroutine exercise to reinvigorate the system for greater effectiveness and effeciency.
While wishing all the officers well in their respective appointments, the COAS, enjoined them to take their new postings seriously and discharge all responsibility and duties with utmost loyalty.
All appointments take effect from April 1, 2020.
