Adamawa governor, Fintiri shown something at Tingno after the communal clash

Following the communal clashes that broke out between Hausa and Choba communities in Tingno, Lamurde local government, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has visited the area to see for himself the level of devastation.
The Governor led a high powered delegation that included Deputy Governor Chief Crowther Seth, Secretary to the State Government, Malam Bashir Ahmad and Service Commanders in the state.
Speaking to newsmen, Governor Umaru Fintiri described it as devastating and alarming and revealed that security operatives have been drafted to the area and normally is returning.
He said the actual remote cause of the clashes is yet to be known but according information from preliminary investigation, the crisis started as a result of argument by some youths which escalated into the fight.
The Governor described Tingno as an agrarian and commercial centre in the state and called on warring communities to sheath their sword and promote peaceful coexistence among them.
Contributing, the State Police Commissioner, Mr Olugbenga Adeyanju revealed that his men has been drafted to the area and they are on top of the situation adding that the rate of casualty is yet to be ascertained.
The Chairman of Lamurde local government Mr Burto Pwadyangakai William said the crisis has started Thursday evening where many houses were burnt to ashes in Tito and Tingno and hundreds of people were displaced.
In an interview with some of the victims Safiyanu Muhammed and Malam Jibirilla Adamu thanked Governor Fintiri for the quick response by saving their lives and deploying security personnel to curtail the clashes in the area.
Meanwhile, Governor Umaru Fintiri has assured some of the displaced people that government will take care of them.
Some of the victims were evacuated by the convoy and settled in Lafiya primary school.
