Gombe Police shot kidnapper in a gun battle, recover locally-made pistol

Gombe State Police Command said they engaged in a gun battle where one of the kidnappers was shot dead while others flee into bush with bullet wounds.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Ahmed Maikudi Shehu made this known in Gombe while briefing Journalists on Wednesday.
He said the kidnappers invaded Yelwa village through Kashere in Akko Local Government Area and entered one resident belonging to Mallam Kawu Amada and injured him for not finding money in his possession before they proceeded to Musa Rufayi residence and kidnapped him.
The kidnappers which they said used two motorcycles in kidnapping Rufayi to unknown destination but later escaped unhurt base on distress call from the officer in charge Kashere where the combined team of police patrol, SARS operatives and hunters who were led by the DPO Pindiga blocked Badara routes via Kashere when the information reach out to the police the kidnappers exchange fire and as a result one of them gunned down and one of them Babangida Musa was arrested.
The CP also revealed that one locally-made revolver pistol and two Bajaj motorcycles were recovered from the kidnappers adding that effort is ongoing to track the remaining one.
